How a week works

  1. Tell it what to skip.

Allergies, ingredients your household does not like, how many you cook for, US or metric. Once.

  2. Choose your dinners.

Pick recipes yourself or take suggestions that already skip what you asked it to.

  3. Shop once, then cook.

One combined list for the week, then one clear step at a time at the stove.

What it is being built to do

Plan the week in one sitting
Choose three to seven dinners at once, so the question of what is for dinner is settled before Monday.
Skip what your household does not eat
Filter using listed ingredients and your selected restrictions. Always review recipe details and product labels; filters cannot assess cross-contact.
One combined shopping list
Choose your dinners and get one list. Shared ingredients are added together and sorted by store section.
One clear step at a time
A step-by-step cook screen that stays awake, with timers built in.
Servings and units that adjust
Cook for two tonight and six on Saturday, in US or metric units.

What is changing, and how the options compare

Questions you might have

Is this Mealime?

No. Meals This Week is a separate, independently built app with its own accounts. It is not a continuation of Mealime and is not affiliated with Mealime or Albertsons Companies.

Can I transfer my Mealime account or saved plans?

Meals This Week will not offer direct Mealime account import at launch. It is a separate service with a separate account. Mealime says its recipe collection will remain available through Meals Hub; see its official shutdown notice for information about your existing account and data.

When is Mealime closing?

Mealime’s notice says its app will be discontinued on October 21, 2026, that its recipes continue in Meals Hub, and that personal data will be deleted when the app shuts down. Check that notice for the details that apply to you.

How is this different from Meals Hub?

Meals Hub is the planner Mealime’s team now offers inside Albertsons Companies store apps and websites, and Mealime says it works even if you do not shop at those stores. Meals This Week is a standalone planning app that is not part of any store.

Is it free?

The plan is to launch free on the web, supported by ads. Ads never appear in the cook screen or on your grocery list. The free plan holds one weekly plan at a time. A premium tier comes later, and the free plan stays.

When does it launch?

It is in development now, and we will not print a date we cannot keep. Join the list for the launch email. Web first, including phone browsers; an iOS app follows.

How do allergies and dislikes work?

You select them once, and recipes are filtered using their listed ingredients. The flags are automated estimates, not a safety guarantee. Always review recipe details and product labels; filters cannot assess cross-contact.

What do you do with my email?

We store it to send one email when the app launches. No newsletter, no sharing, no selling, and you can unsubscribe any time.
